Should I prioritise resolution or refresh rate?

For fast competitive games, prioritise a refresh rate your PC can consistently feed. For detailed worlds, a higher resolution may matter more. Start with your graphics card's performance in the games you play; a higher-Hz monitor does not increase the game's FPS.

How do I choose between 24 and 27 inches?

Consider viewing distance and usable desk depth as well as size. At the same resolution, a smaller screen packs pixels more closely. A 27-inch QHD screen can offer more detail than a 27-inch Full HD screen, but also demands more graphics power at its native resolution.

Does a 1 ms specification tell the whole story?

No. Pixel response time describes a pixel transition, while input lag measures a different part of the delay. GtG and MPRT figures use different methods and are not interchangeable. Check the measurement conditions and overdrive settings; the fastest setting can introduce bright trails.

What should I check for a PlayStation or Xbox?

Match the exact console's output modes to the monitor's supported HDMI resolutions and refresh rates. A PC rating such as 165 Hz does not guarantee a console will use that mode. Check 120 Hz, VRR and HDR compatibility separately for the resolution you want.

Will adaptive sync help when my frame rate changes?

On compatible hardware, variable refresh rate can match the screen's updates to the game's frames within a supported range, reducing tearing. The graphics card, connection and monitor settings all matter. Adaptive sync smooths delivery; it does not make the GPU render more frames.

Is curved or flat better for my setup?

A curved display can feel more enveloping when you sit near the centre, especially on a wide screen. Flat displays suit flexible seating and side-by-side layouts. Choose around your desk and preferred viewing position; curvature alone does not add resolution or guarantee less eye strain.
